Playing Dungeonquest with my kids

Well the two eldest kids anyway. Like many games of Dungeonquest managing to survive a trip to Dragonfire castle was enough. In the end I died playing the Ninja whilst my son who always plays the wizard managed the win with 30GC by playing the walking through walls spell! My daughter got out (she played the elf) to but with no loot after she got too tired to continue after about turn 7 - at that stage I convinced her to play on the proviso I would get her to an exit rather than going for the treasure chamber. Anyway here are a couple of pics of the game:

The brave adventurers

End game
I love Dungeonquest even if it is unbalanced and bloody hard to survive let alone win.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all you Oldhammer fans out there. Hopefully Christmas brings you the old citadel goodies your looking for (if that is what you are after of course!). Anyway to fit in with the theme (Oldhammer and Xmas) I painted up Sanity Claus which I had sitting around:

Ghouls

As I noted in an earlier post I'm working on completing my KoW undead army. As part of that I have a regiment of ghouls (or two troops) to do as they are worth fielding. Whilst they are cheap and have poor defense they don't suffer from shambling, move quickly and have a decent attack rating. With the figures below I have 11 - and as these are pretty easy paint jobs (well they way I'm doing them is as they are base coat, wash and dry-brush with details then picked out) I'll have no problem finishing these off by mid Jan.

Ogre and knight

The title says it all really. Copious use of Foundry's Dark African Flesh here - I love the colour so much I had to order some more which arrived in Oz yesterday. I had fun painting the Ogre shaman once I figured how I was going to paint it. The knight was a fairly straight forward job as I have a lot more of these to do and I really cannot afford to spend copious time on any of them. As such a neat job will do.

Another post with undead

As is pretty clear from the heading I've been focusing largely on finishing off undead figures for my KoW army (unfortunately the planned KoW game I had fell through because I had an Xmas party to attend). I'm hoping to have all the units I want to filed done by the time summer holidays have finished which for me is the 19th of January 2016. I have 30 odd figures to go. Three of the four figures below are basically drybrushing over a base coat - pretty easy really and effective.

Technically not undead but as a night horror figure he fits the bill

Gnomevember II

I'm a day late but I did manage to finish off another Gnome (called Hillbreath when the fig was released) for Gnomevember. And a cool figure he is even if he has a strangely oversized index finger and a fetching green bag:
